About Us
Feeding your toddler is a wonderful responsibility, but it can be a daunting one too. At Little People's Plates, we know how difficult it can be to make sense of all the conflicting advice about feeding your family well - not to mention how fussy toddlers can be about food. Making the right choices is not always easy; but it is important.
A diet with too much salt, saturated fat and sugar can increase the risk of obesity and developing conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes in later life.
Toddlers who eat a lot of foods that are low in some nutrients, such as iron, zinc and vitamin A, can become deficient in them. They play important roles in defending against infection and maintaining good health.
By giving the under threes the nutritious food that they need, they should grow, thrive, and develop healthy eating habits for life. The advice provided on this website is designed to help you make sensible, informed choices about how to feed your toddler whether you're cooking everything yourself or using pre-prepared foods.
The Infant & Toddler Forum is an independent group of experts in infant and child nutrition and development. Members of the Forum are practising paediatricians, health visitors, dieticians and child psychologists, well qualified to advise parents and carers how to ensure that their toddlers get the best nutritional start in life.
Little People's Plates is supported by an educational grant from Danone UK.
